Public relations is the management, through communication, of perceptions and strategic relationships between an organisation and its internal and external stakeholders.
The Public Relations Institute of Southern African (PRISA) - Institute for Public Relations & Communication Management is the professional body which represents the interests of public relations and communication management professionals in Southern Africa.
PRISA registers practitioners and provides services and continuing professional development opportunities for practitioners so that they keep up-to-date with the latest trends.
Conference and Events organisers need to have good PR skills when dealing with clients, sponsors, volunteers etc.
Upgrade your skills with a PRISA course.
PRISA runs several professional courses for CDP. These are not all restricted to PRISA members.
Develop these skills with PRISA.
The courses/workshops are designed for various levels of skills sets and are perfectly for Continued Professional Development as follows:

For delegates at a senior management level, either as an account director or a Public Relations manager. The delegate has a wide range of skills but needs to enhance knowledge and understanding of industry issues. The delegate understands the importance of communication management as a strategic management function. The delegate has also attended a CPD workshop at intermediate level.
These workshops are ideal for new entrants to the public relations profession or those with up to one year’s experience. The delegate may be a Public Relations Assistant or a newly- promoted Public Relations officer, or a non-Public Relations practitioner with some responsibility for Public Relations. The delegate may also be a graduate with a general degree and minimal Public Relations experience. The delegate requires basic communication skills and an understanding of how the industry operates.
These workshops are aimed at all levels of practitioners and cover a broad range of special interest subjects. They specialise in a specific topic relevant to public relations practitioners and communication management professionals. These workshops investigate specific issues or practices facing organisations today.
